You can choose which types of transaction each of your cards accepts. This is useful if you want to keep a card for in-store use only, or stop online payments on a card you rarely use. These are on/off switches. Setting a limit as a specific amount, per day, week or month, is not available at the moment.
Change your card's settings
Go to Cards and select the card you want to change.
Tap Manage card.
Tap [placeholder: exact label of the screen — see open question 1].
Turn each setting on or off:
ATM withdrawals — taking cash out at a cash machine
Online transactions — payments where you enter your card details on a website or in an app
Contactless — tapping your card on a card machine to pay
Changes take effect immediately.
Turning contactless off does not stop you paying in shops. You can still pay in person by inserting your card and entering your PIN.
Why you might use this
Turning off a transaction type you never use closes off a way your card could be misused.
If you do not withdraw cash, leaving ATM withdrawals off means your card cannot be used at a cash machine even by someone who has both the card and the PIN.
If you only use a card in shops, turning online transactions off means your card details are no use to anyone who copies them.
Contactless payments often go through without your PIN, so a lost or stolen card can be tapped by whoever picks it up. If you are travelling somewhere card theft is more of a concern, turning contactless off means your card can only be used with your PIN.
On a business account, this lets you decide what each employee card can do. An in-store-only card for a team that never needs to buy online is a common setup.
